Frustrated Teachers

Teacher's day is around the corner..and I feel there can be no better time.. to start this corner...to resume what I really enjoyed.. expressing my *feelings*.
Recently I got to know that I'm the *least expressive* person at the workplace. N I was amazed to receive that feedback which wasn't completely false actually. But this made me realise that I have changed.. transformed rather. N a probable source of this change might be the change of workplace. But what I feel more appropriate is...the change of working environment.
To begin with..let me give you a brief account of who I am and what I do. Well..I like to describe myself as an overthinking animal who is a teacher by profession for last three years.
Three years.. sounds very less in terms of experience..but enough to make someone fall in love with something. In fact..more than enough to make someone fall *out* of love with something.
Mine is a classic case of a mentor who is gradually turning into a teacher which means I am no more on the side of *my* learners. Unsure to even call them *my* learners.
I completed my graduation in Economics and pursued professional course in Education from Delhi University. My first job was with a reputed school near my place...a good start you can say. But my second job was a blessing in disguise as I learnt a lot of things there.. including the ways of survival in Private sector. The school I am currently associated with is a perfect blend of my previous two schools deriving the best out of each of them. So..one might think that finally I have reached where I wanted to..!! Well..the truth is..No.
My experience as a teacher has been so overwhelming that it has made me question my objectives of being associated with this so called *noble* profession. The journey of this transformation from an overly enthusiastic mentor to a detached n frustrated teacher requires a separate chapter altogether. So..see you all soon. Till then..Learn. Share. Care.

  1. I'm sure a majority would be associating themselves with this article. Wish someone could do something about the deteriorating ethics and work culture in schools.

  2. A humorous but veracious account revealing the conditions of most of the teachers who struggle for a change in current schooling fundamentals that compose the very foundation of school culture in our country.
